Democratic 5th Congressional Candidates Forum in Arlington Sept. 26

The forum is titled, "Energy, the Environment and the Innovation Economy."

Five of the seven Democratic candidates running for now U.S. Sen Ed Markey’s old 5th Congressional seat will take the stage at Arlington Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 26, for a forum.

The forum, “Energy, the Environment and the Innovation Economy,” is being hosted by a coalition of statewide and local energy and environmental nonprofits and business leaders. It’ll be moderated by Boston Globe reporter Erin Ailworth and starts at 6:30 p.m.

State Sen. Will Brownsberger, State Sen. Katherine Clark, Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian, State Rep. Carl Sciortino and State Sen. Karen Spilka will be in attendance. Democratic candidates Martin Long and Paul John Maisano are the two other Democratic candidates.

The primary is Oct. 15.

The forum’s sponsors include: the Environmental League of Mass., Mass. Audubon, The Nature Conservancy, Clean Water Action, A Better Future Project, as well as several local organizations.
