Weymouth Man Charged with Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Threats

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Weymouth man allegedly fought with and threatened Arlington officers responding to a report of an unwanted guest Monday evening in a Prospect Avenue home.

David B. Jenkins, 40, of Greentree Village, Weymouth, was arrested at the residence and charged with assault and battery on a police officer and threats.

When an officer began questioning Jenkins, he allegedly swore at and threatened the officer and then got in a fighting stance and cocked back to throw a punch. At this time, two officers tackled Jenkins onto a bed and handcuffed him as he continued to try and fight free, according to police.

Jenkins was unruly in the cruiser, continually bashing his head against the cage and plexi-glass inside, police said.

Jenkins continued to threaten officers during his booking and struggled against them when they attempted to put him in a cell, police said.
