Home Break-In in East Arlington

A Varnum Street residence was broken into Monday morning.

A Varnum Street woman returned home at about noon Monday to find that her residence had been broken into.

The home appeared to be entered through a ground-level window screen, police said.

The woman said several pieces of costume jewelry had been taken, as well as two laptop computers.

The woman had left her home shortly after 10 a.m. that morning. A neighbor told police that she had heard “male voices” sometime between 11 a.m. and noon outside the residence but didn’t think anything of it.
