Popular Arlington Business Closes

Ryan’s Florist at 346 Mass. Ave. recently closed.

A sign in the business’ storefront Tuesday reads that the space is for rent and to call Myer Dana and Sons at 617-928-1700 if interested.

In our last “Best Of” awards, Ryan’s Florist won our “best florist” category, receiving an extraordinary amount of praise from our readers.

“I love Ryan’s!” Anna Azevedo wrote at the time. “The quality and freshness of the flowers are second to none, and the arrangements are like pieces of art. Ryan’s is not your run-of-the-mill florist, but rather a high-end flower shop disguised as a small neighborhood mom-and-pop.”

Diane Meiklejohn Carney, an Arlington native, has run the store for about the past decade. Charlie Ferguson ran it for at least a few decades before her.
