3 New Arlington Restaurants Opening Soon

One is set to open in a couple weeks.

Arlington residents looking to dine out will soon have three new options: Sono, Common Ground and Bagelville.

Sono

Sono, the new Asian restaurant/sushi bar moving in across from Summer Street Field, is just about ready to open.

The restaurant, at 471 Summer St., has set up a Facebook page and told us Friday that they’re just waiting on an inspection from the Board of Health. They said they should be open in “just a couple weeks,” so maybe the first week of 2014.

The above photo, from Sono’s Facebook page, shows the restaurant’s sushi bar back on Nov. 4.

According to the Facebook page, Sono will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday-Saturday. It looks like it’ll be closed on Sundays.

Sono’s owners are Huanhuan Lin, a sushi chef from Malden, and Wu Chen.

Common Ground

Common Ground, the Allston gastropub opening its second location in the old Gemma space on Broadway Plaza, should open in early February, according to its Facebook page.

We’ve written fairly extensively about Common Ground in the past, most notably:

Just quickly, the restaurant, at 309 Broadway, will be owned by Bob and Laurie O’Guin, of Newton. It’ll have 106 seats in the main, front room and another 90 seats in its back function room. It’ll stay open until midnight every night of the week.

Bagelville

Bagelville, Panera’s replacement at 1398 Mass. Ave. in Arlington Heights, is also on the way.

Again, we’ve written quite a bit about Bagelville:

7 Things We Learned About Bagelville Monday Night

But to reiterate, Bagelville already has locations in Boston’s Faneuil and West Roxbury. It’s menu is similar to Panera, and in Arlington, it’ll be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

It’ll have WiFi, and owner Sergio Goncalves, who is from Brazil and lives in Saugus, also has a hand in Boston & Maine Fish Co. and The Berry Twist, both in Faneuil Hall, and The Monkey Bar in Provincetown.
