ReplyI do not disagree with your observation on sample size but one month sample can be viewed as a leading indicator predicting changes in the market/economy. But, then again, LI's are not always accurate.

ReplyI will counter by noting what Ana Helena Cruz, pct. 5, said: it's grammatically correct and just because an example isn't in the current bylaws, it doesn't mean it won't occur in the future.

ReplyDear Ms. Hart:
I agree with you and many who comment on Patch that those posting their thoughts should use their actual names as if they were writing a letter to the editor. I do understand why some posters wish to be known by a "nomen nescio:" a sense of "freedom" to fully expressing their thoughts on issues, a fear of being seen as a "rabble-rouser" etc. I do advise "Ann" and "Progress" to abandon their pseudonyms for the benefit of full disclosure. I will say that I do have a different standard in terms of terminating or deleting comments from those who use a "nom de plume": my experience is that those using a "second" name produce the most unpleasant comments and viewpoints or who are just simply rude – using all caps, degrading others with childish outbursts ("moonbat") or other written equivalents of leaving gum on the seat of the bus. They will be "punished" swiftly by me with immediate expulsion from the comment board. There is no room for those who can not express themselves in a civilized manner. -

ReplyWhen I arrived on Mt. Auburn Street a little after 1 a.m., I heard a "big" explosion and then what I though was small-arms fire. As one witness said later in the night, it was so surreal to think that Watertown was the center of a shootout and the beginning of a massive manhunt. What I will remember is the sea of blue police lights from Watertown Square to Arlington Street and police officers with guns drawn.

Oh, come on, Dawn. Just think sitting in a downpour for TWO HOURS! I was at this year's George Washington University graduation on the Mall in DC. It was sprinkling and you had thousands of parents and friends in misery under plastic panchos. UGH! Let them have it indoors!
