Alleged Arlington Boys & Girls Club Abuser Arraigned

The club's director knew about allegations in 1980 but fired Paul Collins and told him to leave town, instead of contacting police, according to court documents.

Paul A. Collins, the Long Island, N.Y., man arrested Friday in connection with the investigation into sexual-abuse allegations at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club, was arraigned Monday in Cambridge District Court in Medford. Collins, 62, of 31 Pleasant Ave., Centerreach, N.Y., was held on $250,000 cash bail by Judge Roanne Sragow. He is accused of sexually abusing four boys while he was the swim coach at the club in the late 1970s, according to a Boston Globe report. Collins was charged with rape of a child by force, indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14 (three counts) and open and gross lewdness. Alleged Arlington Boys & Girls Club Abuser in Court Today

Arrest Made in Arlington Boys & Girls Club Sexual-Abuse Investigation

A Long Island, N.Y., man was arrested Wednesday, according to police.

Arlington police have made in arrest in connection with the investigation into sexual-abuse allegations at the Arlington Boys & Girls Club. Police arrested Paul A. Collins, 62, of 31 Pleasant Ave., Centerreach, N.Y., Friday and charged him with rape of a child with force, lewdness, open and gross conduct and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, according to an Arlington Police Department release. Collins’ crimes allegedly occurred in the late 1970s, early 1980s, and there are five unknown victims at this time, according to police. Arlington Man's Curry College Rape Hearing Delayed

See why the probable cause hearing got pushed back until Aug. 29.

An Arlington man and two from Malden charged with raping a Curry College student in January had their court proceedings postponed Friday until Aug. 29, according to a report in the Currier Times, the school’s student newspaper. Justin O. Castor, then 19, of Arlington, Kensley Metellus, 19, of Malden, and Shakarus D. Semexant, 20, of Malden, appeared in Quincy District Court for a probable cause hearing. The hearing was delayed, however, after the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office asked for more time to review the evidence, which included two used condoms, according to the report.
