Powerball Jackpot Soars to $550M for Saturday Drawing

If you draw the Powerball winning numbers in Saturday’s lottery, you could score $550 million, or a $350 million one-time payout.

Powerball results were watched closely Wednesday when the jackpot was $363 million. After no one picked all six winning numbers, the new Powerball prize for the Saturday, May 19 drawing is now $550 million. Tickets are $2 and the game is played in Wisconsin and 42 other states, including Florida, Texas, California and New York. Arlington Woman, Co-Worker Win $50 Million Powerball Jackpot

Winning ticket was sold at the Shell station on Waltham Street in Lexington.

Update 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 Updated with new info from the Massachusetts State Lottery (press release at the bottom). ----- Update 2:10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 Rosa DeLeon and Reginald LeBlanc have chosen the lump sum option of $33 million, $23.1 after taxes, according to WBZ Newsradio's Mark Katic on Twitter. The two began playing two sets of numbers 10 months ago, Katic wrote, one they pick, one is quick pick. The quick pick hit, according to Katic. DeLeon is 52, LeBlanc 54, according to Boston.com. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510, according to the lottery.
