A 47-year-old Arlington man was charged with attempted murder the morning of Friday, Jan. 11, after he allegedly choked another man and beat him with a remote control after the man wouldn’t give him a Percocet for his back pain. Timothy J. Stewart, of Epping Street, was also charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, intimidating a witness and resisting arrest after the incident. A Summer Street man allegedly choked a woman in his residence on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24. Omar Taha, 24, was arrested at 12:12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, after the woman reported the alleged incident to police that morning. He was charged with attempted murder, assault and battery and threats, according to police. The woman told police that Wednesday morning that Taha went into a “rage” Monday evening when she did not give him the money he asked for. Taha’s eyes opened “very widely” and he looked “through her, searching left and right around the room,” she said. The Level 3 sex offender who was arrested Friday on Broadway and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault allegedly straddled a woman while she was lying in bed asleep in his Milton Street residence and then tried to strangle her. Police responded to Michael T. Innis’ Milton Street residence at about 12:19 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, for a report of a recent domestic assault and battery, according to the police report. Michael T. Innis, 44, of 46 Milton St., called Arlington Police at about 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, to turn himself in, police said. Innis was then arrested on Broadway in connection with an incident on Milton Street at about 12:19 a.m. earlier that morning. Innis declined to make a statement after his arrest, police said.
