Tryst, Flora and Scutra are all offering special New Year's Eve menus tonight.
Today is New Year’s Eve, Monday, Dec. 31. Here are five things you need to know: 1.) Tryst is offering a special New Year’s Eve dinner menu from 5-11 p.m. tonight. The menu is a three-course, prix-fixe menu for $45 per person (tax, gratuity and alcohol not included). Reservations are recommended. Read more. 2.) Five Arlington eateries will have special desserts this week to help support breast cancer research and care.
This week, more than 250 restaurants, bakeries, cafés and chocolate shops in Massachusetts, including five in Arlington, will be participating in the 13th annual Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer. During the weeklong fundraiser, from Monday to Sunday (March 7-13), all of the eateries will have a unique dessert, starting at $3, with the proceeds going toward breast cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Bakes for Breast Cancer, Inc., a newly-formed nonprofit breast cancer organization. The participants in Arlington are: Flora, Not Your Average Joe’s, Quebrada Baking Co., Ristorante Olivio and Tryst. Tryst Tryst will have a special two-course, prix-fixe menu from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter Sunday for $22 (children’s menu available a la carte). Reservations are required, 781-641-2227. Tryst will be closed for dinner Sunday. Flora Flora will have a special three-course, prix-fixe menu from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter Sunday for $40 ($20 for kids under 10). Menu. The Arlington Center eatery is our Best of Patch Readers’ Choice winner for best fries.
The Madrona Tree, known for being local and organic, also has the best French fries in town, according to Arlington Patch readers. The Broadway restaurant narrowly edged out Tryst this week in our most recent Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest, with both spots getting lots of love for their specialty fries. The Madrona Tree’s sweet-potato fries and garlic fries are must tries, according to Beth Kalikstein on our Facebook page, as are Tryst’s truffle fries, Morgen Bergman Sarpeshkar said.
