Ted Dever is planning to file a grievance against the school district, according to Boston.com.
After months of turmoil, Arlington High Athletic Director Ted Dever was fired by the school district in late March, his attorney recently told Boston.com. Dever’s attorney, Rick Grundy, said he was planning to file a grievance against the district on behalf of his client, according to the report. District administrators would not comment on the personnel matter but said Dever was taken off the payroll March 22, the report states. Dever had been on paid administrative leave since last August, when it was announced he was the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation. That investigation is still ongoing, Arlington Police Capt. Richard Flynn told Boston.com. No details have been released on the nature of the investigation. In November, …

Arlington Superintendent Kathleen Bodie, Arlington High Interim Principal Mary Villano and acting athletic director Robert DiLoreto will address the high school’s recent athletic forfeitures at tonight’s School Committee meeting, according to the agenda (attached). On Wednesday, Dec. 12, Bodie announced via a press release that the high school would be forfeiting a number of wins from last school year because several student athletes were found to have been academically ineligible under MIAA rules in an investigation by DiLoreto this fall. Some foreign exchange students were also found to have been ineligible during DiLoreto’s investigation, as they competed without the required MIAA waivers. The varsity and junior varsity boys’ soccer, …

Arlington Superintendent Kathleen Bodie has told Dever it’s due to his past job performance, but Dever’s attorney isn’t buying it, according to the Boston.com report.
The Arlington School District is trying to fire Athletic Director Ted Dever, according to a Boston.com report. Dever, who has been on paid administrative leave since late August because he’s the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation, received a dismissal notice from Superintendent Kathleen Bodie on Thursday, Nov. 15, according to the report. Dever and his attorney, Rick Grundy, then met with Bodie and an attorney representing the district last Tuesday, Dec. 4, the report states. Grundy told Boston.com that Bodie’s claiming Dever’s being let go because of his past job performance, not the criminal investigation. Grundy said that Bodie’s specific complaints of Dever’s performance are untrue. Dever has not been charged, and still no …

Edward "Ted" Dever has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to Superintendent Kathleen Bodie.
Arlington High School Athletic Director Edward “Ted” Dever is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation by the Arlington Police Department and Middlesex District Attorney’s office, according to Arlington Superintendent Kathleen Bodie Wednesday. Dever has been placed on paid administrative leave, she wrote in an email. Principal says administrators are seeking solutions but they may be costly.
Administrators at Arlington High School are considering changing locks and installing security cameras near athletics locker rooms, after several football players on Friday had their belongings stolen while they were at an away game. The issue comes after several parents said this is not the first or second time student athletes are victims of theft from school locker rooms. This time, police said students had phones, wallets, money and other electronic devices stolen. Principal Mary Villano acknowledged the problem has happened in the past. “We have so many doors and so many groups using the school, it’s very hard to control who’s coming in and out of the building,” the principal added. “We do the best we can, but it’s difficult to …

“This not the first, second or even third time that this has happened,” said one parent.
Parents of Arlington High School football players are demanding answers and action from school officials, after several players were victims of theft from their lockers while they were at an away game on Friday. According to the police report, student athletes returned from a game against Woburn High School about 10 p.m. on Friday to discover iPods, wallets, money and other items had been stolen while they were out. Several lockers were missing locks, except for one that was found half cut, according to the report. Several parents told Arlington Patch this is not the first time students are victims of theft from the school’s locker room. One of them, John Jacey, wrote an email to Superintendent Kathleen Bodie, Principal Mary Villano and …

Hi Tim, Thanks for stating the obvious; of course the schools should consider all concussion monitoring systems. Wogga, aka Carl, is a town meeting member up for re-election this year. He is like a lot of Arlington's politically involved, they use smears whenever you criticize or hold accountable those in authority. The "wogga"'s hope to curry favor with the "in" crowd, probably from a feeling of…   more ›
