See which one is planning to open this week.
A new gluten/wheat free bakery in East Arlington is planning to open this week, while a new wine shop in town is still a few weeks away, a new grill and tavern, a few months. Something Sweet Without Wheat Something Sweet Without Wheat, which has moved into the old Barismo spot at 169 Mass. Ave., is just waiting on a glass countertop, which is due in this week, and then it can get the OK from the town’s Board of Health and an occupancy permit from the town, according to one of its owners, Joe Penney. “If all goes well and the inspectors can come see us right away then we should be open [this] week,” he wrote in an email. “It all depends on how busy they [are].” The Woburn-based bakery, which we’ve written about before, was started by two …

See what new businesses are potentially coming to East Arlington, and which Arlington Heights restaurant is changing its name.
A new gluten/wheat free bakery and a new second-hand store are set to go before the Board of Selectmen Monday evening, according to the board’s agenda (below). It also appears that Jade Garden, the Chinese restaurant in Arlington Heights, is changing its name to Szechuan Dumpling based on the agenda. Something Sweet Without Wheat, the Woburn-based gluten/wheat free bakery, which we’ve written about before, is going for a “Food Vendor License” at the meeting. The bakery, which is going in the old Barismo spot at 169 Mass. Ave. in East Arlington, appears to be close to opening – its storefront looks complete and it seems as though a lot of work has been done on the inside as well. In mid November, the bakery’s manager, Teresa Fiore, thought …

The bakery will also be 95 percent dairy free, and its goods will contain no tree nuts, except coconut.
A gluten/wheat free bakery is moving into the old Barismo spot in East Arlington. Something Sweet Without Wheat could open at 169 Mass. Ave. as soon as Saturday, Dec. 1, according to Teresa Fiore, who will manage the shop. “That’s our goal,” she said recently. “We’d like to be a part of East Arlington First Lights.” The family owned and operated specialty bakery, which was started by two Stoneham sisters just over two years ago, is based out of a commercial kitchen on 6th Road in Woburn. Up until now, the bakery mostly wholesaled its goods to local markets and food stores or sold them by phone or online. The East Arlington location will be the bakery's first retail-only operation. “We’re super excited,” Fiore said. “Arlington just seems …
