The following is from the Town of Arlington. Snow Emergency/Parking Ban Declared For February 8 The Town of Arlington has declared a snow emergency/parking ban, effective Friday, February 8th starting at 2 p.m. This is a major snow event with high winds and heavy snowfall predicted. The ban will be lifted when conditions allow. Another Town Notice will be sent when that happens. During a Snow Emergency, a parking ban is in place on all streets and municipal parking lots. It is crucial to keep cars off the streets during this time to allow the Town to clear the roads. Any vehicles parked on the streets during these hours will be subject to ticketing and towing. Snow Emergency/Parking Ban Declared For December 29-30 The Town of Arlington has declared a snow emergency effective today, December 29 starting at 6 p.m. (except Mass. Ave., which begins at 11 p.m). The ban will be lifted on Sunday, December 30th at 6 a.m. During a Snow Emergency a parking ban is in place on all streets and municipal parking lots. It is crucial to keep cars off the streets during this time to allow the Town to clear the roads. Any vehicles parked on the streets during these hours will be subject to ticketing and towing. Arlington's Inspectional Services Department is advising property and home owners to remove large accumulations of snow or frost heaves from elevated decks, flat roofs and all means of egress. Arlington has declared a snow emergency effective Tuesday, Feb. 1 starting at 10 a.m. Due to inclement weather, all afternoon and evening activities are canceled for today, Tuesday, Feb. 1. Arlington Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 2. A parking ban will continue until further notice. Town officials said due to the expected accumulation of snow over the next few days, the ban may last until Thursday, especially in East Arlington.
