Update, 11:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 Only one NStar customer in Arlington was without power at 11:15 p.m. tonight, according to NStar's Outage Map. ----- Forty-five NStar customers in Arlington were without power at 11 p.m. tonight, according to NStar's Outage Map. Forty-one were without at 10:30 p.m., so there hasn't been much of a change in the last half hour. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) reported at 11 p.m. that roughly 300,000 Massachusetts residents had lost power due to tonight's blizzard. Most of NStar's outages are on or near Cape Cod, according to the map. However, nearby Watertown had 8,081 residents without power (or 47 percent) at 11 p.m. So, let us know. Do you have power? Nearly 1,000 homes in Arlington were left in the dark afte a rare October nor'easter hit the area last weekend. It took NSTAR until Wednesday to get power back to most homes. Students at Arlington High School were once again evacuated Thursday afternoon due to an odor of natural gas. Students were evacuated school about 1:15 p.m. after a teacher smelled a strong odor of gas on the school’s fourth floor, by the science classrooms. And Arlington-based American Alarm and Communications announced this week it will donate 20 personal emergency response systems to veterans who are recuperating in their homes, allowing them to have a greater peace of mind while maintaining a certain level of independence. According to the company's estimates, it could take until Wednesday evening for energy to the remaining two households without power. As of Sunday, nearly 1,000 households were left in the dark after a rare October nor'easter hit the area this weekend. According to the company's estimates, it could take until Wednesday evening for energy to be restored to the entire town.
