Mr. Mud Goes to Laundromutt

Self-service dog washing trip for Tatsu and Skylar Yip.

Imagine, after recently having been professionally groomed, your dog has just had a joyous time wallowing in the mud. Or, your dog has rolled in something truly stinky, and your regular groomer just can’t fit your dog in right away. Or, your young puppy or new adopted dog is frightened of going in to be groomed and needs to learn how to enjoy, or at least tolerate, the process. I have found myself in each of these binds at one time or another. Although self-service dog washing is no match for a professional grooming, there are plenty of times that it’s just the fix my dogs need in between their regular days of beauty. Laundromutt is a life-saver! Rosie is also a fan of the stinkiest mud and water possible. I bathed her in the tub at home ONCE. And only once. After spending twice as long cleaning up the bathroom after our "bath," I vowed never to do that again. Mud formulas to clean, nourish and detoxify, shea butter creams to soften, sooth and protect, and shampoos with kava, aloe, papaya and awapuhi to pamper—sounds like a pretty swank spa, right? But it’s not for you. It’s for your dog!
