There is currently a power outage along Mass. Ave. in Arlington Center, according to a town release. Town Hall phones and email are offline. According to NStar’s Outage Map, 85 customers were affected as of 11 a.m. Friday. Power is expected to be restored by noon, according to the town.

Update, 11:20 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 Only one NStar customer in Arlington was without power at 11:15 p.m. tonight, according to NStar's Outage Map. ----- Forty-five NStar customers in Arlington were without power at 11 p.m. tonight, according to NStar's Outage Map. Forty-one were without at 10:30 p.m., so there hasn't been much of a change in the last half hour. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) reported at 11 p.m. that roughly 300,000 Massachusetts residents had lost power due to tonight's blizzard. Most of NStar's outages are on or near Cape Cod, according to the map. However, nearby Watertown had 8,081 residents without power (or 47 percent) at 11 p.m. So, let us know. Do you have power? Power should be fully restored with generators sometime between 1 and 2 a.m. this morning, according to an NSTAR spokeswoman.
With temperatures in the mid teens Saturday night, roughly 150 Arlington homes lost power shortly before 11 p.m. because of a faulty cable, according to NSTAR spokeswoman Mary Ellen Molloy. As of 11:50 p.m., 28 of those homes, on Jason, Central and Court streets, were still without power. All residents should have power by tonight, according to NSTAR.
1.) At 2 a.m. this morning, about 1 percent of NSTAR customers in Arlington – or 263 out of 21,131 – were still without power, according to the company’s outage map. On Tuesday evening, NSTAR estimated that all of the town would be back up and running by Thursday night. Arlington’s outage numbers peaked Monday evening at about 15 percent, which was typical of Boston’s inner suburbs. 2.) NSTAR expects to have all of Arlington back up and running by Thursday night, according to a company press release. At 2 a.m. this morning, about 4 percent of NSTAR customers in Arlington – or 903 of 21,131 – were still without power, according to the company’s outage map. At the time of the release, 8 p.m. Tuesday, roughly 5 percent of Arlington customers, or 1,108, didn’t have power. At that time, 3.91 percent of NSTAR’s Massachusetts customers, or 45,066 out of 1,151,385, were down. The company is bracingfor significant damage and power outages as the storm moves across the area. Nearly 1,000 homes in Arlington were left in the dark afte a rare October nor'easter hit the area last weekend. It took NSTAR until Wednesday to get power back to most homes. Students at Arlington High School were once again evacuated Thursday afternoon due to an odor of natural gas. Students were evacuated school about 1:15 p.m. after a teacher smelled a strong odor of gas on the school’s fourth floor, by the science classrooms. And Arlington-based American Alarm and Communications announced this week it will donate 20 personal emergency response systems to veterans who are recuperating in their homes, allowing them to have a greater peace of mind while maintaining a certain level of independence. According to the company's estimates, it could take until Wednesday evening for energy to the remaining two households without power. NSTAR is reporting this Tuesday morning that the number of Arlington homes affected by this weekend's power outage is now down to 153. According to the company's estimates, it could take until Wednesday evening for energy to be restored to the entire town.
