Evelyn M. (MacIver) Millane, of Lexington, formerly of Belmont and Arlington, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Martin B. Millane Sr. Mother of Martin B. Millane Jr. and his wife Noreen of Belmont. Grandmother of Patrick, Andrew, and Catherine Millane. Predeceased by two brothers and two sisters. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St. (Rt.60, adjacent to St. Agnes Church), ARLINGTON, on Wednesday at 9 a.m. Funeral mass at Saint Agnes Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Lexington Selectmen delineate half the length of Busa Land streetscape for four units of affordable housing; details about housing design and community farm still TBD.
New housing will occupy no more than half of the stretch of the town-owned Busa Land along Lowell Street just over the border in neighboring Lexington. In a 3-to-2 vote on Monday, July 30, the Lexington Board of Selectmen decided the property would hold four units of housing on a strip of land not exceed half of the frontage along Lowell and only as deep as the least practical need. The land had been under consideration for as many as eight new units. The nay votes belonged to selectmen Hank Manz and Peter Kelley. Manz would have preserved more of the Lowell Street frontage to allow more flexibility on the housing plan, while Kelley hoped to limit footprint to one-third of the land along Lowell Street.
