Late Arlington Resident’s John F. Kennedy Memorabilia to be Auctioned Off Today

The auction, which has roughly 2,000 items in 723 lots, has already drawn hundreds of Kennedy enthusiasts.

David Powers, a longtime Arlington resident who died in 1998, was a close personal friend and special assistant to President John F. Kennedy. Today, his family will be auctioning off his collection of John F. Kennedy memorabilia, which includes hundreds of photographs, documents, gifts and a Air Force One bomber jacket, according to an AP report on the Huffington Post. Powers’ collection of about 2,000 items has generated quite the buzz among Kennedy enthusiasts and already drawn hundreds to the auction preview, the AP reports. The items will be auctioned off in 723 lots, starting at 11 a.m. this morning at John McInnis Auctioneers, 76 Main St., Amesbury. Bidding can also be done online. Powers’ family found the items locked away last year…
