Here's the list of what is open and closed in Arlington and Massachusetts on New Year's Eve, Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, and New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013: Open on New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 (at owner’s discretion): Closed on New Year's Day Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013: There will be no trash or recycling collection on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Tuesday's collection will be picked up on Wednesday, and there will be a one-day delay for the remainder of the week. The Friday pick-up will be delayed until Saturday.
