What Arlington Business Were You Sad to See Close in 2012?

Arlington, and several other communities in the Boston area, lost a local favorite when Johnnie’s closed in November. Another local favorite, Brigham’s, gave Arlingtonians a scare in 2012, when it was seized by the state in May for “nonpayment of taxes.” Luckily, Brigham’s reopened a few days later. Gemma and Main Event Tuxedo also shuttered their doors in 2012. Gemma was supposed to become “Cooper’s Tavern,” but we’ve heard those plans have fallen through and there’s still a “For Lease” sign in the restaurant’s front window. Main Event Tuxedo did quickly transition to a new boutique, Arlington Centered, which opened in late September. Buona Vita Cucina Italiana became Scugnizzi Pizza & Kitchen, and I Chef became Napoli Kitchen. However, …
