Frozland’s Now Open, What’s Your Take?

How does it compare to self-serve ‘froyo’ chains like Orange Leaf? Let us know by posting a comment below.

Frozland, Arlington’s first self-serve “froyo” establishment, opened earlier this week at 882B Mass. Ave., diagonally across from Arlington High School. And now that it’s open, we want to know your take. How is the frozen yogurt? How is the selection of flavors and toppings? How does it compare to other froyo spots like Orange Leaf and Fruitee Yogurt in Lexington, Swizzles in Winchester and again Orange Leaf and iYo Cafe in Somerville’s Davis Square? And how does it stack up against local places like The Chilly Cow and Brigham’s? In case you’ve forgotten, another frozen-yogurt spot, Yummy’s, is coming to town, at 474 Mass. Ave. in Arlington Center, the former home of Something Extra.

When Is Frozland Going to Open?

You asked; we've got your answer.

If you’ve gone past Frozland recently, surely you’ve noticed all of the progress. The bright orange awning and inflatable penguins in the window are hard to miss. It actually looks open, but when will it? Frozland’s owner, Sobhy Ibrahim, said Thursday that he’s just waiting on the final town inspection, which should take place early next week. He said he plans to open right after that, so middle to end of next week. Frozland, at 882B Mass. Ave., diagonally across from Arlington High School, will be Arlington’s first “froyo” spot, but another one, Yummy’s, has been approved for 474 Mass. Ave. in the center, the former home of Something Extra, a women’s boutique. Frozland has developed a website since we last reported on it, with flavors and…

New Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt Shop Coming to Arlington Center

The 'froyo' craze continues in Arlington.

A new self-serve frozen yogurt, or “froyo,” shop is coming to Arlington Center. The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved a common victualler, or operating, license for “Yummy’s” Monday night. The shop is going in at 474 Mass. Ave., the former home of Something Extra, a women’s boutique. The storefront is to the right of Sweet Chili. Aneesh Bhambri, a Burlington resident who owns the Sprint store in Arlington Center, as well as two others, is the man behind the shop. He previously owned eight Verizon stores, including the one in Arlington Center. Yummy’s is the second froyo shop slated for Arlington. Frozland Frozen Yogurt is moving into 882B Mass. Ave., across the street from Arlington High School, as well. Self-serve frozen yogurt has …

Selectmen Approve New ‘Froyo’ Shop’s License

Self-serve frozen yogurt in Arlington took one step closer to becoming a reality Monday.

The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved Monday a common victualler, or operating, license for “Frozland Frozen Yogurt,” the new self-serve “froyo” shop planned for 882B Mass. Ave. The shop is being proposed by Sobhy I. Ibrahim. He told the board Monday he’s looking forward to working hard to create a successful business in Arlington. “Arlington is one of my favorite towns,” he said. Ibrahim said he chose the location, which is next to Lady Siam, because of its proximity to the high school and its rear parking. Self-serve “froyo” has become quite the trend in the Arlington area. In the last year, two self-serve spots, Fruitee Yogurt and Orange Leaf, have opened in Lexington Center, one, Swizzles, opened in Winchester Center, and two …

Self-Serve 'Froyo' Craze Coming to Arlington?

A new self-serve spot is on the Board of Selectmen's next agenda.

It had Arlington surrounded, and now it appears the self-serve “froyo” craze is finally coming to town. A sign boasting “Self-Serve Frozen Yogurt Coming Soon” recently appeared in the front window of 882B Mass. Ave., the vacant space next to Lady Siam and diagonally across from Arlington High School. And now, “Frozland Frozen Yogurt” is going for a common victualler or operating license for that space at Monday’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting, according to the board’s agenda. The business is being proposed by Sobhy I. Ibrahim. The meeting starts at 7:15 p.m. Monday in the Selectmen’s Chambers on the second floor of Town Hall. The self-serve “froyo” craze has hit Arlington’s borders hard in the last year. Two self-serve spots, Fruitee Yogurt…
