The following is from the Town of Arlington. Fall back to standard time on Sunday, Nov. 4. As you turn back your clocks one hour, the Arlington Fire Department urges residents to inspect their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and replace their batteries. This simple maintenance procedure insures your family will be quickly alerted in the event of an emergency in your home. If the detectors are broken, replace them immediately. Detectors can be disposed of in regular trash. For additional safety tips please arlingtonma.gov/fire.

Remember, folks: Sunday, Nov. 6, is the end of Daylight Saving Time. That means on Saturday, Nov. 5, before turning in for the night, turn your clocks, wristwatches, some smart phones and microwave ovens BACK an hour.
