Cambridge Savings Bank Appoints New President and CEO

The bank's CFO got the nod.

Patenaude as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Financial Group, Inc. and Cambridge Savings Bank (CSB). Mr. Patenaude, who succeeds Robert M. Cambridge Savings Bank Schools Arlington Students on Value of Banking

Arlington elementary school banks teach banking skills and money smarts.

The following is from Cambridge Savings Bank. Cambridge Savings Bank (CSB) recently kicked off operations at two elementary school banks in Arlington, including one at the longest-running school bank in Massachusetts. The elementary school banks at the Brackett School and the Peirce School allow volunteer tellers to collect deposits and record these transactions in individual passbooks. The school bank program allows students at each school to deposit money every Friday while fifth graders manage deposits and accounts. Pooled funds are deposited into Brackett School and Peirce School bank accounts at the Cambridge Savings Bank banking center in Arlington Heights. Cambridge Savings Awards Scholarships to Arlington Seniors

Three Arlington High seniors and one from Minuteman Tech received scholarships from the local bank.

The following is from Cambridge Savings Bank. Cambridge Savings Bank announced Monday, June 11, that Cambridge Savings Charitable Foundation has awarded scholarships to four local high school students from Arlington through the 2012 Kevin J. Fitzgerald Scholarship Program, which awarded a total of $65,000 to graduating seniors in Eastern Massachusetts this year. This year’s scholarship winners from Arlington High School are Rachel Ater, Siddharth Hiregowdara and Seneca Staskunas. Additionally, Shannon Cain, who is graduating from Minuteman Career and Technical High School in Lexington, was awarded a scholarship. Suspect at Large Following Early Morning Robbery Attempt

A knife was shown but nothing was taken in the incident that occurred just before 1 a.m. today.

Police are still looking for the suspect in an early morning armed robbery attempt outside the Cambridge Savings Bank at 188 Massachusetts Avenue. The incident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m., but police say there was a lapse of about 30 minutes in-between the commission of the crime and it being reported. According to a spokesman from the Arlington Police Department, "A gentleman was making a night deposit and was approached by the suspect who said, 'give me the money.'" The suspect was described as approximately 25-years-old, male, 6'-6'2", and wearing a long dark coat and ski mask. The suspect allegedly showed a knife, though no one was injured in the incident.
