A girl walked into the Arlington Center Starbucks Monday evening with a man in a black ski mask holding a “large piece of wood,” according to police. The girl then pointed out a male sitting in the coffee shop, and the masked man, who also had black gloves on, approached the male and began beating him with the piece of wood, police said. The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. At the scene, the victim told police that the masked man struck him several times in the legs and upper body with the piece of wood. Michael T. Innis, of Milton Street, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault after Friday's alleged incident.
The Level 3 sex offender who was arrested Friday on Broadway and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault allegedly straddled a woman while she was lying in bed asleep in his Milton Street residence and then tried to strangle her. Police responded to Michael T. Innis’ Milton Street residence at about 12:19 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, for a report of a recent domestic assault and battery, according to the police report. Michael T. Innis, 44, of 46 Milton St., called Arlington Police at about 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, to turn himself in, police said. Innis was then arrested on Broadway in connection with an incident on Milton Street at about 12:19 a.m. earlier that morning. Innis declined to make a statement after his arrest, police said. State Rep. Carlos Henriquez, of Dorchester, was arrested early Sunday morning near Forsyth Street in Boston, after allegedly choking and punching a 23-year-old female college student while driving around the city. The first-term Democrat pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, kidnapping, witness intimidation and larceny under $250 Monday in Roxbury District Court, according to the Boston Globe. He called the allegations “completely untrue,” the report states. He was released on $1,000 cash bail. Victim told police he warned a man he was not allowed to pick up scraps within Arlington, a job the victim's company gets paid to do.
The following information comes from the police log posted by the Arlington Police Department. Assault on Oak Hill Drive A man who does recycling work for Arlington's Public Works Department told police he was on Oak Hill Drive when he noticed a man in a black pick-up truck loaded with appliances, including an air conditioner. The reporting man said the appliances had green stickers on them, indicating it was scheduled to be picked up by his company. The victim told police he informed the man he was not allowed to pick up scrap.
