Arlington's McDonald-Meteer Wins Division 3 Race at Eastern Massachusetts Championships
The Spy Ponders finished fourth as a team to qualify for this weekend's MIAA All State Meet at Northfield Mountain.
Arlington High senior Daniel McDonald-Meteer won the Division 3 race at the Eastern Massachusetts Cross Country Championships Saturday and teammate Antonio Xelhoa was fifth, as the Spy Ponders took fourth to qualify for this weekend’s MIAA All State Meet at Northfield Mountain as a team. McDonald-Meteer ran the 5-kilometer course at the Wrentham Development Center in 15 minutes, 46 seconds (5:05-mile pace), five seconds faster than King Philip’s Owen Gonser, who finished second. Xelhoa, also a senior, crossed the line in 16:16. Senior Kirby Stoff was next for the Spy Ponders in 25th, 16:58, and senior Matt O’Rourke and junior Gabe Putham rounded out Arlington’s scoring runners in 54th and 71st, respectively, 17:36 and 17:55.
