Town Manager Brian F. Sullivan, who is set to retire later this month, was honored with a party at Town Hall Thursday.
A retirement party was thrown Thursday night at Town Hall honoring outgoing Town Manager Brian F. Sullivan. Sullivan worked as Arlington’s top administrator for eight years of his 37 year career in municipal government, and is set to retire later this month. Attendees arrived at Town Hall at 5:30 for a cocktail hour, followed by speakers honoring Sullivan. After a light dinner, incoming Town Manager and current Deputy Adam Chapdelaine spoke on Sullivan's behalf. Chapdelaine will replace Sullivan beginning Feb. 24. "This is one of the hardest working boards I’ve worked with," Sullivan said of the Arlington Board of Selectmen.

Town officials on Thursday will hold a celebration for Brian Sullivan, who retires later this month. Deputy Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine is set to fill his shoes starting on Feb. 24.
Town officials on Thursday will throw a retirement party for outgoing Town Manager Brian Sullivan, who is set to retire later this month. The event takes place on Thursday, Feb. 16, 5:30-8 p.m., at the Town Hall auditorium. Brian Sullivan has worked as Arlington’s top administrator for eight years and announced last year that he would retire. The Board of Selectmen chose Deputy Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine to replace Sullivan. Chapdelaine will begin on Feb. 24. Selectmen Chair Clarissa Rowe has called Sullivan’s work “exemplary.” During his interview, Chapdelaine spoke about his expertise handling municipal budgets and explained his leadership style is highly participative. Adam Chapdelaine is scheduled to take the reins from retiring Town Manager Brian Sullivan on Feb. 24.
Starting Feb. 24, Deputy Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine will step up to replace retiring Town Manager Brian Sullivan as Arlington’s top administrator. The Board of Selectmen offered Chapdelaine the job after a final round of interviews on Monday. Ashland Town Manager John Petrin was the runner-up.
