I have no problem with that. Catch the big violators is what I would like to see. The 10 plus lossRead More of lic violators who thumb their nose at the laws designed to keep abusers from killing with machines. We have to spend extra dough now because of the arrogance of a few who won't call a cab. Happy incarceration and loss of income in advance you deserve everything you get.

Such a shame. So many youngsters trying to get into this country to get away from deplorable livingRead More conditions. What they would give to have the chance that this one and his cronies flushed down the toilet.

What I don't understand is; if they haven't tried the actual (alleged) bomber himself, how can theyRead More convict this guy of colluding with the bomber if we don't (yet) legally know who the bomber is?? I'm no attorney, but seems that there's something wrong here??

Funny how this made the news yet my friends incident didn't. Her dog was attacked by an off-leashRead More pitbull, destroyed the dogs face. At least vet said it will recover. Cops showed up but heaven forbid they taint the dream of all these idiot dog owners feeling entitled to their parks and publicizing it.
Linda Blare July 23, 2014 at 10:29 am
Dave, you are so right about how police reports of problems with dogs in parks go unreported in theRead More police blotter. My daughter was on a little league team last year with a bunch of other kids 7-8 years old. After the game down at Scannell field, the fenced in field near Spy Pond, three dads were raking out the field when a group of dog owners showed up for their nightly 'walk' with a half dozen off leash dogs on the playing field. One dad told the dog owners they were not supposed to do that and WWIII ensued with two owners in this guys face, waving bags of dog poop at the guy, threatening him, even calling the cops. When two of Arlington's finest arrived they treated the dad like a criminal, even after one of the dog owners again made threatening moves, gestures and verbal taunts. Politically, the cops are told to ignore complaints about bad behavior by dog owners, bicyclists and town employees. Welcome to Arlington!

Shoplifting cost us all, we pay higher prices for goods because of these idiots. They may not beRead More violent offenders but they should be off the street & this is a good way to find them. I do wish the Patch would proofread its own articles though.

The Mass Most Wanted Website focuses on showcasing criminals at large that were caught on camera orRead More video, making an accurate ID more possible. Most of the criminals featured are shoplifters and bankrobbers because it is rare for someone to get video or photos ofhe person who murdered or raped them.

whats next if you smell alcohol no sobriety test
Laura Rodriguez July 16, 2014 at 05:46 pm
I agree with this, even with alcohol just because you can smell it you can't tell if a person hasRead More only had one drink or has had several. What if someone had a drink spilled on them at a party? The smell shouldn't be the only proof to justify a search. Under the 4th amendment of the Constitution, we are protected against unlawful search and seizure. With that being said, the police should have more viable proof that a person is under the influence in order to administer a sobriety test.

I remember less than a decade ago, while my car was parked in a parking lot a few hundred yards awayRead More from where I was standing, a marblehead police officer saying he was going to go search my car and if he found even one seed from a marijuana plant he would charge me with a felony.

This problem works BOTH ways. There is a false sense of entitlement that accompanies this crosswalkRead More law. People think that they can walk right into a crosswalk without breaking stride or even looking around. Crosswalks that are equipped with "don't walk" lights are almost completely ignored. The red hand means stop. Perhaps if EVERYONE respected the rules, we'd all be better off. Maybe start handing out some jaywalking tickets? There are written laws for that as well.

If you read the story on WCVB you'll see the father is 72 and the adopted child is 4. Also, that theRead More dog actually survived.
Mark Kaepplein June 30, 2014 at 01:04 pm
This accident might have been prevented if neighbors at that intersection didn't have high hedgesRead More going right out to the corner at the edge of their property line. Hedges and fences like this make it so drivers and pedestrians can't see well across corners while approaching the intersection. Arlington has a zoning bylaw against it, but its poorly enforced, if at all. It needs to be for safety.
Wind Dummy 25 June 30, 2014 at 05:48 pm
I hate those hedges. They buy a corner lot then put up privacy hedges so everyone has an extraRead More stress nodules twice a day.

You have to realize that alot of these cabs are driven by people from other countries that don'tRead More obey traffic laws and may overcharge! A 911 Bomber drove a cab in Boston. New Hampshire is the only state that supports, personel self-defense. Massachusetts, the policeRead More say, "You're on your own". Calling 911 is as effective as yelling for help! In fact yelling for help might get you a few by-standers to watch and take cell phone movies for latter.
