Living in nearby West Medford I've frequented MANY hardware stores and big-box outlets over several decades, and consistently find Shattuck's combination of myriad hard-to-find products and excellent service to be almost without peer (Medford Hillside still takes the cake for funkiness).

I just purchased a few items at the Shattuck Ace hardware on a Sunday, got home and found that I had been charged twice for one of the items, a $4.99 overcharge. I called, spoke with both the woman who rang me in and the manager. I had used a credit card for the purchase and asked that the extra can of butane be credited to the card I had charged them on (that the manager helped me find the butane, and handed me one can, so there's no question that I bought two of them.) The manager refused to refund the purchase unless I returned to the store. And when I got there, about a half an hour after my call, they were closed which the manger didn't happen to mention to me. Angry does not begin to mention how I felt about the service I received. So I give them a no star rating.

Shattuck's Ace Hardware is an excellent store. Great location, prices fair, very helpful staff. This is where I always go when I need supplies. The staff offers good ideas and helpful tips, as well. Definitely recommended!
