Monday Essentials: Whole Foods Opening, Town Night/Day

A look at the week ahead in Arlington.

1.) The new Arlington Whole Foods at 808 Mass. Ave., the former home of Johnnie’s Foodmaster, is set to open Wednesday, Sept. 18. The grocery store will have a “bread-breaking ceremony” at 9:45 a.m. that morning, followed by the opening at 10 a.m. The store’s normal hours will be 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.

2.) Town Night starts at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Spy Pond Field. The annual event will have kiddie rides, a dog show and, of course, fireworks. More >>

3.) Town Day takes over Arlington Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, with more than 200 booths, food, music, a road race and more. More >>
