Bike Path Now Open
Local and state crews finished clearing the Minuteman Bikeway on Friday. However, a number of Arlington Recreation areas still remain closed from Wednesday's microburst.
The following is from the Town of Arlington.
On Friday, July 20, among the removal of many street trees on houses, crews from the Arlington Department of Public Works, with assistance from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, removed large trees and debris from the bike path.
The entire bike path is now open to bicycle and pedestrian use.

Clean up efforts will resume today, Saturday, July 21, to address tree damage in Arlington Recreation areas. The following recreation areas are still closed.
- – the baseball and softball fields (no games) and the playground
- – baseball field (no games)
- – fenced in dog park
- – soccer field area (no games)
- – elementary school playground

If you have not contacted Public Works to report a damaged street tree, please call 781-316-3301.
Starting next week, Public Works will systematically collect downed Town trees and branches along roadways. To assist in this clean-up, Public Works is asking residents, if they are able, to stack Town tree branches along the sidewalk in a way that allows access to sidewalks and roadways. At this time, Public Works estimates that collection of Town tree debris to be over the next couple weeks.
Updates will also continue to be posted via Town of Arlington Notices and at arlingtonma.gov.
