European Football Club Practicing at Tufts

The practices are free and open to the public.

AS Roma, the Italian football club in town to take on Liverpool FC at Fenway Park on Wednesday, is practicing at Tufts University.

The team is practicing on the fields near the Tufts track off College Avenue in Somerville.

Roma’s official Twitter account, @OfficialASRoma, tweeted out the above photo of practice at Tufts on Tuesday morning.

According to the Somerville Youth Soccer League, the club will be back at Tufts at about 9 a.m. Thursday, July 24, to practice, and the session will be free and open to the public.

Roma and Liverpool kick off at Fenway at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 23.

Roma’s roster includes legendary Italian striker Francesco Totti, as well as Italy’s Daniele De Rossi, former Arsenal player Gervinho, of Ivory Coast, Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder Miralem Pjanic and English back Ashley Cole.

Roma finished second in Serie A, Italy’s top league, last season.
