Arlington Hockey Eliminated With Overtime Loss

The Spy Ponders pounced on the Wildcats, 2-0, but couldn't hold on and fell in the first extra session in the North Division 1 semifinal.

Arlington jumped ahead of Wilmington early, but the Wildcats came storming back to beat the Spy Ponders in overtime during the North Division 1 semifinal game on Wednesday night.

John Kelly scored twice in the first period for Arlington, including one on a shorthanded breakaway.

Wilmington had an answer, however, as the Wildcats scored late in the opening period and again in the third period to force overtime, where they eventually found the game-winner midway through the extra session.

Following the victory, Wilmington advanced to the North Division 1 title game, where they will face off against Reading on Monday on the ice of Lowell's Tsongas Center. The winner advances to the Division 1 state title game at TD Garden.
