Arlington Basketball Bounced From Tournament by Tewksbury

The Redmen were too much for the locals as Tewksbury cruised to a first round win.

Same story. Different ending.

The Tewksbury Memorial High School boys basketball team met Arlington in the opening round of the North Division 2 postseason on Tuesday night, just as they did last season.

And for the second straight year, it was a double digit decision. Only this time it was the Redmen who cruised into the quarterfinals, earning a 74-63 home win.

Thanks to the victory, Tewksbury advances to the quarterfinal where they will take on either top seed New Mission or No. 16 Burlington. New Mission had a preliminary round bye while Burlington beat Malden Catholic, 63-53, to advance to the first round match up.

Tewksbury will enter the quarterfinal game, slated for Monday night, as the No. 8 seed with a record of 14-7. Arlington's season comes to an end with a mark of 14-9. The Spy Ponders came into Tuesday night's game as the No. 9 seed.
