New Mexican Eatery Approved for Arlington Center

The Arlington Board of Selectmen granted La Victoria Taqueria an operating license Monday.

An Arlington resident who owns two popular Mexican eateries in Beverly is planning to open a third in Arlington Center.

The Arlington Board of Selectmen granted Alejandro Barrientos, of Lombard Terrace, an operating license Monday for La Victoria Taqueria.

Barrientos, who was born in Veracruz, Mexico, is planning to open the 16-18 seat eat-in and takeout eatery at 12 Medford St., the former site of Tradebuzz.com.

Barrientos owns another La Victoria Taqueria and Cielito Lindo Cocina Mexicana in Beverly. The eateries have impressive 4.5 and 4.0 Yelp ratings, respectively. The Boston Globe recently gave La Victoria Taqueria a favorable review as well.

The La Victoria Taqueria in Beverly features “Mexican street food,” such as burritos, quesadillas, tacos and a variety of tortas, or Mexican sandwiches (full menu).

The Arlington La Victoria Taqueria should be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day of the week, according to Barrientos’ application.
