2 New Eateries Coming to Arlington Center?

The eateries will be side-by-side on Medford Street if approved.

The owner of two popular Mexican eateries in Beverly appears to be planning a new Arlington Center location, while a local Chinese restaurant is going for a name and ownership change.

The owners of La Victoria Taqueria and Lucky Dragon Restaurant will seek operating licenses Monday night from the Board of Selectmen, according to the board’s agenda. The companies’ eateries are slated for 12 and 14 Medford St., respectively, the former homes of TradeBuzz.com and Golden Taste.

Alejandro Barrientos owns La Victoria Taqueria, which serves “Mexican street food” and is the company name listed on the board’s agenda, and Cielito Lindo Cocina Mexicana in Beverly, and he appears to be behind this new Arlington venture as well. His Beverly eateries boast impressive 4.5 and 4.0 Yelp ratings, respectively. The Boston Globe actually featured him this past Tuesday.

Just based off the board’s agenda, it appears Barrientos would call his new Arlington eatery “Cuenca” but it was hard to say for sure Thursday night.

A sign on Golden Taste’s door Thursday said the restaurant will open under new management on June 1. This new management appears to start with Shun Kit Wong, who is listed as the owner of Lucky Dragon Restaurant on the board’s agenda.
