Arlington Bilingual Education Group Urging Supporters to Attend Tonight's School Committee Meeting

The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the School Committee Room on the sixth floor of Arlington High School.

Today is Thursday, Dec. 6. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) The Arlington Bilingual Education Advocacy Group, a group of parents, educators and community members who are working together to bring foreign language and immersion to Arlington at the elementary-school level, are urging supporters to attend tonight’s School Committee meeting, which starts at 6:30 p.m. in the School Committee Room on the sixth floor of Arlington High School. The group would like to see a pilot immersion program begin next fall. For more on the group and its mission, see its Facebook page. School Committee member Paul Schlichtman gave his thoughts on the issue in a recent blog post. A discussion of principals and department heads budget priorities for next school year is also on the School Committee’s agenda.
