3 Thompson School Principal Finalists Named

The Arlington Public Schools is pleased to welcome three finalists for the position of Thompson Elementary School Principal. Each candidate will visit the district to meet with teachers, staff, and administrators during the week of April 7th. Parents and community members are invited to meet with the candidates on Wednesday, April 9th from 6:30–8:30 pm at Thompson Elementary School in the Library.

Karen Donato is currently the Assistant Principal of the Center School in Stow, MA, a position she has held since 2011. Prior to assuming this position, Ms. Donato was a Special Education Teacher and Learning Specialist in the Andover Public Schools. She has also taught in the Medford Public Schools. Ms. Donato received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from Providence College, a Master of Education from Cambridge College, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Salem State College.

James Stoddard is currently the Vice Principal of the Runkle School in Brookline, MA, a position he has held since 2008. Prior to this position, Mr. Stoddard was a Mathematics Teacher at the Baker School in Brookline. He also has experience teaching Mathematics for Grades 4 through 8 at the Fenn School in Concord, and at the St. Andrews School in Barrington, Rhode Island, as well as directing summer Mathematics camps. Mr. Stoddard received a B.A. in Psychology from Brown University, a Master of Education from Lesley University, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Simmons College. 

Michelle Zottoli is currently the Principal at the Wyman Elementary School in Woburn, MA. She began this position in 2011, after serving for several years as an Assistant Principal in the Lexington Public Schools. Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, Ms. Zottoli was an Elementary Teacher and a Reading Teacher in Lexington. Ms. Zottoli began her teaching career in Sacramento, California. Ms. Zottoli received a B.S. in Finance from Bryant College, a Master of Education from Sacred Heart University, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from UMASS Lowell, and a Certificate of Advance Study of Education from the MGH Institute of Health Professions.
