State Rep. Candidate Monju Kicking Off Campaign Tonight

Joe Monju is having a wine and cheese reception tonight at the Arlington home of Phil and Mary Lohnes.

Today is Thursday, Sept. 20. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Joe Monju, Republican candidate for state representative in the 23rd Middlesex District, is officially kicking off his campaign tonight with a wine and cheese reception at the Arlington home of Phil and Mary Lohnes. Arlington and West Medford voters who are looking for “new ideas and fresh thinking on Beacon Hill” are encouraged to attend, according to a campaign press release.

From Phil Lohnes, Monju’s campaign manager: “Joe Monju believes that Massachusetts residents are not being adequately represented and are in fact being overtaxed and over-regulated. He’s part of a growing wave of fresh voices who can and will bring change to the State House. That’s why we are holding the first of a number of public events, so that Joe can hear first hand what’s on people’s minds, from spending and entitlements to the state’s position on small business and social issues. We’re hopeful that a substantial number of voters will turn out to meet their candidate in a candid and relaxed setting.”
