Selectman Joseph Curro Jr. said Monday that something needs to be done about the regularly broken parking machines in the town’s Russell Common lot behind Arlington Catholic High School.
What spurred Curro’s frustrations?
Last weekend, with the parking machines not working, a number of people who went to and volunteered at the Arlington International Film Festival at the Regent Theatre were ticketed, according to Curro.
Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine told Curro that he notified the police of the situation Saturday morning, so the moviegoers in question must’ve been ticketed Friday night.
Curro, speaking under other business at the board’s meeting, said if the problems with the machines persist, he’d possibly be for shutting them down completely until a permanent solution is reached.
A town committee is looking at the overall Arlington Center parking situation, including the machines and lot.
