Narcan Training Event in Arlington Wednesday, April 30

There have been four fatalities from heroin in Arlington since last October.

The following is from the Town of Arlington.

Arlington Health and Human Services and Arlington Police will host a free Narcan event on Wednesday, April 30, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Arlington Senior Center located at 27 Maple St.

Arlington has seen an increase in the use of heroin over the past year resulting in four fatalities since last October.

Narcan is an effective drug that is used to reverse the effects of opiate overdoses and can be administered before paramedics arrive.

The event will be held for concerned residents, as well as family and friends of opiate users. The event will feature Health Innovations Inc. and will provide attendees with training and certification to carry Narcan and a list of places to obtain Narcan.
