Youths Found with Peppermint Schnapps Behind Arlington High School
While on patrol at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday, police discovered a group of youths behind with several empty beer cans around them in the parking lot.
The youths told police that they hadn’t been drinking. An officer then searched their backpacks and found alcohol in four of their packs. The youths had one Budweiser can, a watermelon Four Loko and two bottles of peppermint schnapps between them.
The youths’ parents were contacted to pick them up. Police were going to recommend the youths for the diversion program. If the youths fail to enter the program, they’ll be charged with being a minor in possession of alcohol, police said.
Arlington Man Arrested for False Prescription
James Bradley, 36, of Arlington, was arrested at about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday for allegedly trying to obtain Oxycodone with a false prescription at the CVS in East Arlington. Bradley was charged with uttering a false prescription, receiving stolen property, uttering a false instrument, forging of a document and attempting to commit a crime.
Arlington Man Arrested for Assault and Battery
Stanislav M. Nestorov, 21, of Arlington, was arrested at about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday on Mystic Street for assault and battery.
Car Fire in Arlington Center
Police and fire crews responded to a parking lot near Massachusetts Avenue and Medford Street at about 1:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a car fire.
Once there, firefighters soon extinguished the blaze. The driver said he was on Mystic Street, at Massachusetts Avenue, when his gas gauge suddenly dropped. He said he took a left onto Massachusetts Avenue and then began to smell gas. Once he reached Medford Street, he said he saw flames coming out from under his hood, so he pulled into an empty parking lot and got out of his car.
He said he’s had ongoing problems with his fuel system.
