A young girl on a bike crashed into a male pedestrian on the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway behind Trader Joe’s in Arlington Heights Saturday evening.

The collision occurred at about 5:30 p.m.

The male was holding a napkin to his bloody chin when police arrived. He said he was walking toward Arlington Center when he was struck from behind. He said he was knocked to the ground but did not believe he lost consciousness.

He was transported via ambulance to Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

The young girl was riding in front of her father at the time of the crash. Her father said she tried to pass the pedestrian but cut too close. She received a small scrape on her knee, her father said.
