Woman Struck by Car on Pleasant Street

The woman was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

A woman was struck by a car while attempting to cross Pleasant Street, at Brunswick Street, at about 12:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7.

An ambulance driver had stopped for the woman and her husband and waved them across, when the car pulled around the right of the ambulance, striking the woman, according to police.

The driver of the car said he slammed on his brakes and he believed he did not hit the woman but she fell to avoid a collision.

The woman’s husband said the car rolled over his wife’s ankle. The woman was in too much pain to talk, police said.

She was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington with a right-ankle injury and lacerations to the right side of her forehead.

The driver was cited for a passing violation.
