Woman Sexually Assaulted on Fresh Pond Reservation Path

The suspect was wearing a black ski mask, she said.

A woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday night while walking on the Fresh Pond Reservation path near Maher Field in Cambridge, off Concord Avenue.

The woman told police she was walking on the path at about 8 p.m. when a man on a black BMX bicycle passed her going the opposite direction and stared at her in a way that made her feel uncomfortable.

After that, she said she heard the man turn around. The man, now wearing a black ski mask, rode up next to her and indecently touched her, she said.

At this time, the woman ran to Concord Avenue, and the suspect, who had tried to follow her but fell off of his bicycle, fled in the opposite direction, according to Cambridge Police.

The suspect was described as a white male, age 20-25.
