Waltham Woman Allegedly Drives at Nearly 3 Times Legal Limit

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Waltham woman was charged with operating under the influence early Saturday morning after she was pulled over for driving erratically on Bates Road in East Arlington, according to police.

Cortnie S. Daly, 36, of Ridge Lane, Waltham, failed field sobriety tests at the scene and then had a blood alcohol content of 0.221 and 0.220 on two breath tests, police said. The legal limit is 0.08.

Daly allegedly turned onto Bates Road on the wrong side of the center traffic island. She was stopped at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

How many additional man hours will the APD need to devote to the apprehension of drunk drivers in Arlington? I think it's safe to assume that there will be many more impaired drivers in town, especially those leaving the Sports Bar during football season.
