UPDATE: Arlington Liquors Employee Robbed at Gunpoint

The employee was robbed Sunday night in the store's parking lot.

An Arlington Liquors employee was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night when he was leaving the store after closing, according to police.

The employee was walking to his car, which was parked to the left of the store at 94 Summer St., near Scutra, shortly after 11 p.m. when two men in black ski masks and all-black clothing approached him from behind the buildings, he told police. One of the men stuck a small black automatic handgun in his face and said, “Empty your pockets,” while the other stood about 20 feet away, he said.

The employee said he took his keys, cell phone and a plain paper bag containing about $2,300 in cash and placed it on his trunk. The man with the gun then grabbed the bag with the money and ran toward the rear of the buildings, to the Minuteman bike path, he said.

The man ran about 40 feet before turning around and returning to get the employee’s keys and cell phone, the employee reported. Both men then ran down the bike path toward Arlington Center, he said.

The area near the employee’s car was in complete darkness, according to police. After he was robbed, the employee started yelling, and a co-worker, who was parked in front of the store, came over to him, police said. The employee then contacted police with the co-worker’s cell phone about two minutes later, while the co-worker drove to the bike path’s Mill Street crossing looking for the men.

The employee described the men as white males in their 20s, both average height, about 5 feet, 10 inches. The men were wearing black ski masks, black sweaters and dark pants, he said. The man with the gun had a thin build; the other was huskier, he said.

Due to the darkness, he did not know if the other man was armed as well.

Arlington police set a perimeter and requested the department’s K-9 unit on scene. An extensive search of the area was conducted by all available units, according to police, but they were unable to locate the men or any evidence.

I go through the center a couple of time every day. I've never seen anyone passed out. Someone is making up "facts" to suit their opinion. It's not a methadone clinic. educate yourself. Besides, there aren't any "real" schools nearby.
Tim October 10, 2012 at 12:58 PM
I am educated Jon . There are two very real and both are great schools. Its too bad the Arlington Public schools can't even come close to either one of them . But oh well some can't afford to send their kids to those two schools and have to settle for mediocre .The place is attracting nothing good to Arlington Center .... I will start taking pictures and record them asking if I got any weed or money I can spare ... ..Jon educate yourself the place is a Methadone Clinic
Frankie goes to Hollywood October 10, 2012 at 02:53 PM

See Jon I never said I was Catholic . I am not ...but there is your underlying issue . You hate Catholics ... Get over it ...But I do think it's funny when I heard a couple of public school mothers complaining and blaming the catholic schools for their kiddies having 2 days off in sept just as school opened . I guess Yum Kipper and Rushshana are catholic holidays .. Shalom
