Two Men Allegedly Film Youth Soccer Practice, Leave in Gold Minivan
Two men were allegedly videotaping a youth soccer practice at Robbins Farm Park Tuesday afternoon when they were spotted and confronted by a coach. The men then took off in a gold minivan, the coach told police.
The two men, one with a “large sized video camera,” were sitting on the hill, according to the coach. She said that when she went over to approach them, one of them walked to the gold minivan, which had Ontario plates. That man then came back and told the other one to leave too while she continued walking toward him, she said.
The coach was able to get the minivan’s plate number, but a police check came back with no matching record.
The coach told police that due to the time of day and weather, she believed the men were filming her soccer practice, and not the Boston skyline. She reported the incident at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Man Allegedly Tries to Shoplift Incense from Walgreens
A man allegedly tried to shoplift incense from the Arlington Heights Walgreens Wednesday evening.
The man left the store at about 5:35 p.m. with the incense in his pocket, but a manager had seen him take the incense and had followed him out of the store, according to the police report.
When approached by the manager, the man agreed to come back in the store and pay for the incense, according to the report. The man told the manager that he had intended to purchase the incense but then forgot that they were in his pocket, police said.
The manager told police that he did not want to press charges but did want the man banned from the store.
