Two Men Allegedly Drop Acid, Run Around Arlington Neighborhood Naked

The men also swam in Spy Pond, according to police.

Two men allegedly took a hallucinogenic drug in a Gould Road residence Friday evening and then ran around the surrounding neighborhood naked, knocking on doors and yelling. They also swam in Spy Pond, police said.

Criminal complaints were filed against the first man apprehended for possession of a Class B drug, indecent exposure and disturbing the peace, according to Arlington Police Capt. Richard Flynn. Police expect to bring charges against the second man as well, but the incident is still under investigation, he said Saturday.

Police responded to the neighborhood, between Pleasant Street and Spy Pond, just south of Elizabeth Island, at about 6:50 p.m. for a report of a man running through the neighborhood naked, knocking on doors and yelling.

When police arrived, the man was in the water, near the bike path along Route 2, according to Flynn. Water rescue units were called to the scene, but the man exited the water on his own, he said.

The man, who appeared to be in an altered state, was taken to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. At this time, police entered the Gould Road residence where they believed he had been and found acid, Flynn said.

Soon after, police were called back to the area for a report of a second naked man in the water. Again, the man was able to swim to shore on his own and was transported to Mount Auburn Hospital, according to Flynn.

The men made references to a female as well, but police made sure no female was in danger before clearing the scene, Flynn said.
