Arlington Public Works employees were instructed to flatten a jump on the famed Robbins Farm Park sledding hill Monday afternoon after a mother caught too much air and injured her back.
Emergency personnel responded to the hill at about 2:05 p.m. Monday for a report of a sledding injury.
When they arrived, the mother was face down in the snow near the baseball field backstop complaining of lower back pain, police said.
The women’s daughter said her mother was riding an inflatable snow tube when she hit the manmade jump, went airborne and flipped over.
Police requested Public Works employees to remove the jump. No employees were available on the Monday holiday but would be Tuesday.
The mother was transported to a local hospital, police said.
