Suspect at Large Following Early Morning Robbery Attempt

A knife was shown but nothing was taken in the incident that occurred just before 1 a.m. today.

Police are still looking for the suspect in an early morning armed robbery attempt outside the at 188 Massachusetts Avenue.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m., but police say there was a lapse of about 30 minutes in-between the commission of the crime and it being reported.

According to a spokesman from the Arlington Police Department, "A gentleman was making a night deposit and was approached by the suspect who said, 'give me the money.'"

The suspect was described as approximately 25-years-old, male, 6'-6'2", and wearing a long dark coat and ski mask. The suspect allegedly showed a knife, though no one was injured in the incident.

"There was nothing taken," the spokesman said. "The guy yelled for help in the middle of Mass. Avenue … So after he started yelling and screaming at the top of his lungs, the [suspect] took off."

Police canvased the area and stopped several individuals who fit the description of the suspect. As of 10:30 a.m. today no arrest had been made.
